Twitter is a form of social networking. This is a useful tool, since it enables people to interact through SMS and instant messaging. Using twitter seems to be very easy, which I believe to be the main reason of its popularity. Users can stay in touch with their families and friends. At the same time mobile (cell phone) updates are the perfect solution for people that prefer to be in touch with their friends at all times. Basically, twitter is one more way to communicate and be connected with friends in today’s busy world.
About the Blog
The term blog is shortened form of web log. Basically, blog is an online journal. A blog comprises text, hypertext, images, and links (to other web pages and to video, audio and other files). Blogs are usually (but not always) written by one person and are updated pretty regularly. Blogs are often written on a particular topic – there are blogs on virtually any topic one can think of. Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog is called blogging. Individual articles on a blog are called blog posts or entries. A person who posts these entries is called a blogger. Each entry can have its own title and always displays the time and date when it is published. Blogs show the last entry as a first one, so one need to scroll down to read earlier posts.
I found blogs to be very useful when performing various scholastic and personal researches. Since people can publish and share personal knowledge through blogging, blog visitors could find useful information related to their field(s) of interest. Many blogs syndicate their content to subscribers using RSS, a popular content distribution tool.
